Rays' pitcher Jeremy Hellickson is Baseball America Minor League Player of the Year for the 2010 season. We scouted him in his MLB debut (4-2 win Vs. Twins on 08/03/2010). In that game the right-hander showed a very good control of three plus pitches: a 91-93 mph fastball, a 81-83 mph change and a 74-78 mph sharp curveball, resulting as the winning pitcher (7 IP, 6 SO, 2 BB, 3 H, 2 ER).

MLB announced the U.S. and World Rosters for the upcoming Futures Game (July 11 in Anaheim).

The Dominican Republic confirms itself as the best baseball hotbed in the World sending to the Game 12 prospects, followed by Venezuela and Canada with 3, Australia, Colombia, Taiwan, Cuba, Korea, Puerto Rico & Italy with 1.

Brett Lawrie (2B, Brewers): offensive-minded second-baseman with plus power.

Yonder Alonso (1B, Reds): has the potential to hit for average to above average hitting and power at the Major League level.

Hector Noesi (RHP, Yankees): low-to-mid 90s fastball with plus curveball and command.

The USA roster is packed with top prospects:

Jeremy Hellickson (RHP, Rays): the next pitcher Tampa Bay is going to add to its rotation. Plus command guy.

Tanner Scheppers (RHP, Rangers): plus-plus heat in the high-90s generated 52 SO in 37.2 IP so far between AA & AAA.

Lonnie Chisenhall (3B, Indians): plus hitting skills, one of the best hot-corner prospects in the minors.

Mike Moustakas (3B, Royals): has the potential to hit for average & power.

Logan Morrison (1B, Marlins): plus hitting skills and plus raw power potential.

Domonic Brown (OF, Phillies): plus hitting and speed, great arm, among the best prospects in the minors.

Desmond Jennings (OF, Rays): he has been bothered by injuries this season;  80 speed for one of the best baseball prospects.

Mike Trout (OF, Angels): emerging five-tool talent with outstanding speed and power.
