The 2010 season of the Italian Baseball League has started this week. It will be the first championship to be organized according to the ”Franchise” format of MLB. No team will be demoted and each of the eight teams will have an affiliated club playing in the Second Division.
Starting this season, the number of Italian players or Italian School of Baseball (ASI) players that must play in every game is up to 6. The import pitcher will pitch in game 1 of the week, with the rotation free in the other two games, provided that one is reserved to ASI pitchers.
